Inspection system for finishing with
VISION EXPERT 4000

Finishings such as embossing, special varnishes and holograms lend products glittering brand identity. Embossing is applied by means of the hot and cold stamping process. This allows, for example, holograms to be applied to labels. Security features such as 2D and 3D effects, microwriting, nano images and watermarks can be incorporated into holograms, enabling quick detection of forgeries by end customers and the retail trade.

The fully automatic VISION EXPERT 4000 inspection system, integrated directly into the machine, guarantees you 100% inspection of the finishing with objective, reproducible test results, even with offsets and other discrepancies in the product guide. Typical stamping and foil flaws, such as disruptions in the surface, are reliably detected, even in high-gloss materials. Flawed products are detected and highlighted the moment they arise. Vision Experts systems are capable of simultaneously inspecting multiple properties, such as printed images, colour and embossing.

Performance details:
The inspection system can be used for sheets with rotative coating and for reel material. The maximum inspection width is 105 cm. The maximum inspection speed is 12,000 sheets/h or 150 metres/min. Even very minor foil stamping discrepancies can be identified reliably at an image resolution of 0.15mm. Flaw detection itself can be controlled very easily by specifying simple attributes. Flaw size, frequency and location can be set independently of each other and can be aligned to customer requirements.
Immediately after flaws are detected, they can be highlighted with a strip loader, for example. Endless material can be highlighted using colour or by using a label dispenser.

Your benefits:

  • High levels of material savings are attained because flaws are identified the moment they occur and the cause of the problem can be remedied
  • Sorting costs sink because expensive manual re-sorting is no longer necessary
  • A smooth production cycle results, where products free of flaws can be produced immediately and where there is no process disruption as a result of subsequent inspections or reproduction of defective batches
  • The level of customer satisfaction rises in the long-term when no complaints are made due to the high quality
