Inspection for advertising supplements with
VISION EXPERT 4000
Offset printing is the most widespread printing process in the print industry. A distinction is made between sheet-fed offset printing and web offset printing.
Smaller and mid-sized runs of printed matter are produced mainly on sheet-fed offset machines. The printing of advertising material (brochures, posters, business reports, catalogues, etc.) is the domain of sheet offset. Web offset printing is the print process for quick and reliable production of high-circulation and high-value products such as catalogues, advertising supplements and magazines. Printing is performed on widths of up to two metres and also up to a speed of 1000 metres/min, so it is all the more necessary to attain interruption-free production (see also Paper inspection) and to ensure high product quality.
The VISION EXPERT 4000 inspection system inspects every single print over the complete area: in colour and in real-time given a sufficiently detailed resolution, on both sides and across the whole surface. In job printing, comprehensive quality inspection is possible – just as it has been a standard for labels and folded boxes for years.

Performance details:
Vision Experts upgrades virtually all rotary printing presses and monitors any widths of rolls – even at the highest of speeds. The system console is integrated into the master controller of the printing machine and print quality is monitored continuously and automatically. Discrepancies are detected and immediately reported the moment they occur. The system differentiates between one-off flaws (such as water drips and colour splatters) and persistent flaws.
If the printing machine allows it and a waste paper diverter can be activated, the inspection system automatically removes the copies identified as flawed and the print run is free of print flaws. The system warns the user directly in the event of widespread flaws. It can react immediately and rectify the cause of the flaw, resulting in quality improvements in production.
Your benefits:
With the comprehensive quality control of the VISION EXPERT 4000, every discrepancy from the pre-set printed material is recorded by the system and stored. For every job, a log is created documenting the number of flawed copies with type, size and image of every print discrepancy. If a customer complaint is received, the fault log provides irrefutable proof of the actual quality of the job.
